Every year in Shannon Springs Park, Chickasha celebrates the holidays with a Festival Of Light. The lights came on in late November and will continue to shine through December 31 this year.
While many people choose to drive through the lighted displays, the Festival of Lights offers many more activities. Some of those activities include horse drawn carriage rides, ice skating and shopping.
The path through the park leads you through the decorations that include bright displays and plenty of photo opportunities.
The event centers around the giant Christmas tree made up of long string lights. For those who get out and walk around the festival, they can hit up the pit stops for hot cocoa and sweet treats alongside the other activities, such as the skating rink.
Around the giant christmas tree are rides like the carousel and ferris wheel which are shining as brightly as the rest of the park.
If you’re looking for a slower pace, you can take a stroll over the illuminated bridge which crosses over the pond in the middle of the park. There you might also encounter flocks of geese that call the park home. More information about the park and the Festival of Light can be found on their website https://chickashafestivaloflight.org/.
